Sierra Door Company and DW Distribution Donate and Deliver Thousands of Doors
to Houston Habitat for Humanity

HOUSTON, TX (December 4, 2014) - Sierra Door Company announced it has donated 2,150 AugustaWoodŽ solid wood interior doors to Houston Habitat for Humanity. Transportation and delivery support were provided by DW Distribution, a customer of Sierra's. Four truckloads were delivered the first week of December, with the final shipment completed today. When the doors are installed, more than 200 families will benefit.

James Williams, Sierra owner and CEO, explained his connection to the region. "As a native Houstonian, I feel fortunate to support Habitat for Humanity in building homes for families in need. I hope these doors bring years of enjoyment and security to those who receive them. We first worked with Habitat during the Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts. Today, it is equally rewarding to help families as they reestablish themselves in Houston."

For proper transportation to the Habitat warehouse, Sierra called long-term customer DW Distribution, who responded without hesitation. "Our vision is to help others build and achieve their Great American Dream. So, when our long time partners at Sierra requested delivery equipment and personnel to help serve a cause supporting that vision, it made the decision to do so very easy," said Nathan Potter, CEO and third-generation owner at DW.

The donation includes a variety of door heights, widths and styles within the AugustaWoodŽ product line, a brand exclusive to Sierra. The species is Cunninghamia Lanceolata, a sweetly scented cypress known for its overall durability.

The entire Sierra donation will be sold through the Houston Habitat ReStore, a non-profit home improvement store and donation center offering building materials at deeply discounted prices. Proceeds aid the organization's objective to eliminate substandard housing in Houston.

Mike Quirino, ReStore General Manager, was very appreciative of Sierra and DW's actions. "We depend on large scale donations like this one. It gives our customers a wide selection of products at a great price. A donation of this size will go a long way to help fund our mission."
